What are Seed Plugs and Easy-Plugs?
Seed plugs and easy-plugs are two of the most common ways of germinating and growing microgreens. Seed plugs are small compressed pellets of compost, which come with a pre-sown seed inside. Easy-plugs are the same, however they have a slightly larger amount of compost and are sown with one type of seed. How to Use Cultilène Starting Block
The Cultilène Starting Block is probably the most important piece of equipment for microgreen gardening. It is essentially a shallow container filled with water and nutrient-rich liquid, which will be used to grow your microgreens. To use it, simply place your seed plugs or easy-plugs into the Cultilène Starting Block and wait until they start to germinate. Once they have germinated, you can simply move them to a pot or tray and watch your microgreens grow.
Looking After Your Microgreens
Once your microgreens have been moved to a pot or tray, there are a few things you can do to ensure that they grow optimally. Firstly, make sure that the pot or tray is placed in an area with sufficient sunlight. Secondly, ensure that the microgreens are kept moist by regularly watering them. Lastly, if your microgreens start to look a little limp, try misting them with some plant food to give them a boost. Once your microgreens have grown to a suitable size, you can harvest them and enjoy their nutritious goodness. You should be able to harvest up to 4 times with the same microgreen crop, so you can keep coming back for more! After harvesting, you can discard the rest of the microgreens and start again with new seed plugs or easy-plugs.
